Plan Description

This 3 bedroom, 3 bath home features the potential of two front facades. The main floor entry façade presents a humble 2-story home with an integrated entry porch, while the tall side reveals a tuck-under garage. The volumes of the home appear to step down the hill, mimicking the grade change. The house has been previously built with geothermal heating The interplay of color, form, and texture are reflected in the materiality and layering of the interior. Pinwheeling from the central two-story living space, the rooms in the open rectilinear plan include a balcony, loft and porch. The interior is enveloped in rich materiality from the wood and stone floors, slatted wood stair wall and wood panel ceiling. A large south-facing 2-story glass wall provides passive solar and connects the inhabitants to the backyard.

Meet the Designer - MA Architecture

MA Architecture - Houseplans.com
“We make modern design attainable and sustainability practical.”

Honest materials and simple expressions are brought together with a client’s vision to create a home and a place that transcends the component parts and becomes something more, without spending more. Simple choices, well considered, produce an architecture suited to its place.

The designs in our collection range from very small to large homes, but all make efficient and clever use of space in order to maximize function and to live bigger than their actual size. By including both grand and intimate spaces and using a variety of warm materials inside and out, these designs create a liveable modernism that is appropriate to a variety of settings.
